Chrząstowice (German: Chronstau) is a village in Opole County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Chrząstowice.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Central Statistical Office (GUS) - TERYT (National Register of Territorial Land Apportionment Journal) )〕 It lies approximately east of the regional capital Opole. Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (see ''Territorial changes of Poland after World War II''). The village has a population of 1,200. It is also officially known as ''Chronstau'' in German. The settlement and its surrounding area are bilingual in Polish and German, having many ethnic German inhabitants who remained behind after World War II. ==References==
